The title of this journal entry reminds me of this manga concept that's a bit indie, but cool and sci-fi. However, this journal entry is not about that! Today, I gave my 2 weeks notice because I'd rather be drawing and building my skills, instead of waiting on customers in fast-food for minimum wage. The job is cool and I honestly enjoy the customers, but the hours I am putting in and relating that to my school work and the grants I get, it really didn't make a huge financial difference for me. I gained work experience and learn that I have good customer service skills XD. I thought I was just an introvert who shined in the different arts. In conclusion, I'm quitting my job for my art! I realize that I'd rather be doing something I love and when I begin getting paid for it, great! I don't mind doing it for free to begin with because it brings me pleasure either way. Money follows naturally imo.
I went to Anime Milwaukee a few weeks ago and ended up meeting an awesome artist, who is someone I already had been following on DA.
is an amazing artist. He hasn't been active in a year he tells me, but I can tell you that he has improved and he was already pretty badass. I ended up buying 4 pieces of artwork from him. He gave me some good artist advice on improving. Anatomy and Life Drawing classes. Memorizing where the muscles go, how they are when they are flexed or relaxed, and then applying that knowledge during Life Drawing Class. He said he is now at the point he doesn't need to rely too much on reference when drawing.
Anyway, I'm taking my new stand at life to improve and have fun doing it. I hope to be tons more active and a better student at school
. I guess I'll end with "What will you do for Art?"
